  • Uses company equipment and space to perform work.
  • Has access to employee benefits.
  • Receives a W2 form at the end of the tax year.

Contractor Definition

  • Works for herself or another company as a sole proprietor or an LLC.
  • Works on a contract basis to perform tasks.
  • Gets paid through accounts payable as a vendor.
  • Doesn’t receive benefits from your company.
  • Should use her own equipment and workspace, except in special circumstances.
